“HAT6 is just one of many types of liquid crystals whose self-organisation can be used in nanoporous media for materials with tailor-made properties,” emphasizes Marco Mazza from the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization in Göttingen and Loughborough University, who headed the computer simulation study on the self-organisation of the liquid crystals.
