The surname Arocho is an occupational name that means carpenter. It hails from the Pais Vasco "Basque Country" of Northern Spain and Southern France. In the Basque Language it is correctly spelled Arotxo or Arotzo. Both "Tx" and "Tz" have a "ch" sound. Many names were hispanized over the years.
