Die IGB-Forscherin Sonja Jähnig wurde im Leibniz-Professorinnenprogramm ausgewählt und nun gemeinsam durch das Leibniz-Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei (IGB) und die Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin zur Professorin für Aquatische Ökogeographie berufen.

Sonja Jähnig ist seit Arbeitsgruppenleiterin am Leibniz-Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei (IGB, Berlin). Nach ihrer Promotion an der Universität Duisburg-Essen forschte sie am Hydrobiologischen Institut der Chinesischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Wuhan und am Senckenberg Forschungsinstitut in Frankfurt.
